We wanted to reach out

We wanted to reach out

Firstly, our love goes out to everyone affected. We’re especially conscious that COVID-19 has impacted the entertainment and hospitality industries hard. These are our people, and it’s really upsetting.

At Serato HQ in Auckland, New Zealand, we’re in a government-mandated lockdown like so many others. This is also the case in our London, LA, and Brooklyn studios.

So as I write this from my bedroom, Serato will continue on at home. This means dope releases will continue and you’ll still be able to get hold of us if you need help.

Getting you through

In terms of what else is happening, we’ve launched something called Keeping Busy.

The idea is to provide you with resources, content, giveaways, as well as other useful and entertaining stuff to get you through. Off the bat, we have 1,000 three month premium music streaming licenses from TIDAL which you can grab now.

Here’s what we’re working on now, and there’s more to come.

  • Getting your name out there. We’ll give you some pointers on how to maximize your creative energy online from how to release mixes and music, to social media best practice.
  • Working with schools. As you can imagine, a lot of people are looking to learn or improve their skills at the moment via online classes. We’re going to ensure you get everything you need.
  • Entertaining your audience. Since bars, clubs, and festivals are not happening at the moment, it’s important to stay engaged with your audience. We’ll be making a whole heap of content to help you with that.
  • Entertaining yourself. Don’t forget to have fun while all this is going on. Our team will be launching some cool new competitions as well as useful content to help you through.

Once again, we’re really feeling for the creative community at the moment. But we can get through this together, through kindness, and the power of music.

Stay safe.
